Alison Taylor – Ceramicist
“Training at Loughborough University I gained a degree in 3D Design: Ceramics. I have since trained as a Secondary School teacher in Art and Photography
The natural environment produces many varied and interesting forms providing inspiration in creating a sense of nature in my ceramic work. I am increasingly interested in natural landscapes and contrasts with more manufactured, harsh settings.
I use my photography, sketching and painting to explore my inspiration 2-dimensionally before developing it with clay bodies and surface design.
I have been experimenting with a range of wheel throwing processes and clay bodies to create different effects. Recently I have been exploring decorating the vessels, as well as firing techniques.”
